Research Interests / Specializations:

Saltwater-groundwater interaction, Numerical modeling of contaminant fate and transport in the environment, Probabilistic approaches, and Bayesian filtering

Project:

Numerical groundwater modeling in coastal environments and subterranean estuarine typology based on salinity structure

Personal Background:

Aref joined the RESTORE group as a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Clare Robinson in September 2023. He completed his M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering in November 2019. His previous academic focus was on “Contaminant source characterization in a coastal aquifer influenced by tidal forces and density-driven flow’’. Prior to joining RESTORE, Aref worked as a research assistant at the University of Tarbiat Modares in Tehran, Iran.
